February networking events are one of the most popular on the BWN calendar; and this one is going to be FANTASTIC!!
Come ready to meet new people, reconnect with those you’ve already connected with AND BUILD THAT NETWORK!! 🙂
It can be a challenge to walk up to strangers or people that you don’t know very well and start talking about yourself and your business. So – We have Annelies Voorthuis talking to us about our Elevator pitch when meeting people – come along and brush up your skills with like-minded women and spread the word about you and your business !
Annelies Voorthuis currently works as a Industry training consultant for apprenticeship support
She started life as an elite athlete, winning a Commonwealth Gold Medal for Rowing in 1986. She went on to complete a teaching degree working in remote communities for many years. She moved back to the urban world but became disenchanted with the politics of education and moved into the not for profit sector, working as a community development and Indigenous Employment manager and running her own business- In2careers, focused on Indigenous employment for many years.
Annelies moved to Coffs Harbour for work in 2015 – and barely knew a single person in this town! However, she had coached business people about networking and the art of the Elevator Pitch and as a result was able to effectively introduce herself and network within her new business community.
So – as someone who walks the walk when it comes down to pitching and network we’d like to invite Annelies to share her tips and tricks on the Art of Introducing yourself and how to get your message across in the first five minutes. We’d like you to take note and get ready to have a go as we are all going to have a practice at this after her talk .
